About the Program:

 

The Certified Dementia Practitioner credential is an industry standard in Long-Term Care communities. To become certified, participants must complete the Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Seminar by an approved instructor. 

The program is taught in 10-hours and includes the following topics:

  • Introduction to Alzheimer's and Dementia

  • Communicating and Working with Elders with Dementia

  • Quality Care and Residents' Rights

  • Activities and other Non-pharmacological interventions

  • Understanding and addressing challenging behaviors

Students who complete the program are eligible for certification through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP). Course fees include complete instruction, and access to a digital notebook/coursebook. Certification is not included in the fee as it is determined by NCCDP.

About Your Instructor:

Timothy Anderson, CDP, CADDCT, M.Ed., ACC/EDU, CIPG, CPC, BM is an approved instructor for the Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Seminar. Timothy has provided dementia care and services to Adult Day and Assisted Living Organizations since 2007.
